    Medical University - Sofia will host the annual meeting of 53 European Medical Faculties

    The Medical University - Sofia will host the annual meeting of the ECTS Medicine Association, which will take place on 18 - 20 April 2024. The event will bring together more than 90 delegates from 53 leading medical universities and faculties from the European Union (EU), Switzerland and the European Economic Area.

    At the meeting Medical University - Sofia will be represented by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov, MD, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine - Prof. Dr. Dimitar Bulanov, MD, the Deputy Rector of Medical University - Sofia for International Integration and Project Financing - Prof. Dr. Tsvetalina Tankova, MD.

    Welcome speeches will be given by  Mrs Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Scientific Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and the President of ECTS MA - prof. Juan Arguelles from the University of Oviedo, Spain.

    During the General Assembly, new members will be admitted - the University of Augsburg, Germany, the University of Paris-Cité, France, the Medical University of Poznan, Poland, the Catholic University of Valencia, Spain and the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

    The ECTS Medicine Association was established to promote mobility of students and faculty staff under the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. That is why part of the event will be Erasmus Staff Week - training of administrators and coordinators of the Erasmus+ programme. Topics related to medical curricula, internationalization and project application opportunities will be discussed at the meeting. Trainings and lectures on "How to make the programme more inclusive?" and "How to improve the language skills of participants?" will be held in order to increase mobility.
