    iMed Conference ® 16.0 – Lisbon 2024 iPitch Competition

The iMed Conference’s iPitch Competition | Public Speaking Competition is a competition for undergraduate and master Life Sciences students designed to offer the participants the opportunity to have a unique clinical or research learning experience in a renowned European Centre with well-known physicians and scientists. This competition aims to encourage students to develop skills in the areas of public speaking and speech delivery by creating an opportunity to learn how to present an idea, approach an audience and convey their message.

You can earn €900 to fund a two-week internship in Oxford or Belgium with two talented experts in your field! Just for participating, you will be entitled to a Participant’s Kit.

Each participant has to defend an opinion of the situation presented and sustain it with persuasive arguments. We have two problems, one for the Clinical category, and the other for the Research category, that serve as a basis for each participant's Pitch.

Here ( https://linktr.ee/iMedConference ) you can consult the iPitch Competition Rules of Procedure, the Rules Resume and the Formulations of the Problems that serves as a basis to each participant's Pitch.

The clinical internship Host is Dr. Sam Mathewlynn. Dr. Sam is a consultant obstetrician at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, leading advancements in digital health for maternal care. Sam is currently pursuing a DPhil project that explores the use of 3D ultrasound and AI for forecasting pregnancy complications. Dedicated to improving maternal and fetal health results, he merges clinical expertise with digital progress.

The research internship Host is Dr. Lucía Chávez-Gutiérrez, PhD Researcher specialized in proteolytic mechanisms and Alzheimer's disease. Her fascination for proteases and the connection with brain function motivated her to investigate the γ-secretase intramembrane proteases and their pathogenic involvement in Alzheimer‘s disease, offering insights for therapeutic interventions.

The final Pitches will be presented during the iMed Conference ®, which will take place in Lisbon, on the 13rd of October, 2024.

The PITCH SUBMISSION PERIOD ends on May 6th 2024. Don’t miss this opportunity!
