- Ensure that student, PhD, and postgraduate programmes meet high international academic standards.
- Train competitive medical specialists equipped to address the current and future health needs of Bulgarian citizens.
- Emphasize preventive healthcare.
- Foster responsibility, critical thinking, competence, and problem-solving skills.
- Prepare graduates to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote professional training, development, and lifelong learning.
- Instill values such as altruism, compassion, dedication, integrity, loyalty, and respect for patients, colleagues, and the medical profession.
Scientific Research
- Design programmes that investigate the fundamental mechanisms of health and disease.
- Develop and analyze clinical treatment strategies.
- Encourage collaboration between pre-clinical and clinical sciences, as well as between the academic staff of the Medical Faculty - Sofia and researchers from other disciplines.
- Pursue significant, impactful projects and groundbreaking discoveries.
- Maintain a policy of promoting excellence in research.
Healthcare activity
- Equip graduates of the Medical Faculty - Sofia to deliver healthcare based on best practices and scientific evidence.
- Encourage active participation of students and graduates in national and international professional organizations.
